Purplebricks is a fixed fee real estate agency, combining the personal service of an experienced local real estate agent with an innovative online platform designed to create competition for your home and make selling and buying properties easier and more efficient.

My property is already on the market. Can I use Purplebricks?

Yes, you can still use Purplebricks. You can choose to instruct us straight away and set the date for your marketing to start as the day your current agreement comes to an end. You could also instruct us as an additional agent, subject to the terms of your existing agency agreement.

Do you sell businesses, or offer property management?

No, at this point we don’t offer those services. Watch this space though.

Would I get more money for my property with an old fashioned, commission-charging Real Estate Agent?

Not necessarily. At Purplebricks, we’re committed to helping you achieve the best possible price, and have the resources to do just that. Our agents are skilled negotiators who will use their experience to get you a great result. Furthermore, our online platform My Purplebricks is able to generate great buyer interest and foster more competition between buyers – in a completely transparent way that will work for both sellers and buyers.

My property is already on the market. Can I use Purplebricks?

You can still use Purplebricks, subject to the terms of your existing agency agreement. Simply instruct us and set the date for your marketing campaign to begin the day your current agency agreement comes to an end. You could also choose to instruct us as an additional agent, subject to the terms of your existing agency agreement.

Payment and Pay Later

How much does it cost?

For NSW/QLD/VIC/SA customers:

Our fee structure is simple – you pay $4,400 (incl GST) for a Marketing Package and a further $4,400 (incl GST) for a Success Fee on the successful, completed sale of your property. There may also be additional fees payable if you elect to take up additional services. For example, the $660 (incl GST) Auction Fee, if you choose to sell your property via auction.

For WA customers:

Our fee structure is simple – you pay $2,200 (incl GST) for a Marketing Package and a further $6,600 (incl GST) for a Success Fee on the successful, completed sale of your property. There may also be additional fees payable if you elect to take up additional services. For example, the $660 (incl GST) Auction Fee, if you choose to sell your property via auction.

Why is the cost so low?

You pay less simply because;

  1. we've introduced a number of innovations that make the administration and marketing of your property more efficient, in particular through our online platform My Purplebricks and,
  2. we run Purplebricks from a central location, rather than from expensive local shopfronts. Our Local Real Estate Agents live in the areas where they work, so they have a network of potential buyers, in addition to all the buyers registered with My Purplebricks.

This enables us to significantly reduce our overhead costs, pass the savings on to you and still deliver a comprehensive Real Estate service.

When do I pay the fee?

The $4,400 (incl GST) Marketing Package ($2,200 incl GST in WA) is charged from your nominated credit card account, when the property advert is published on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. If you choose to sell your property via auction, the $660 (incl GST) Auction Fee is also charged from your nominated credit card account, when the property advert is published on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au.

Alternatively, you can opt to pay the Marketing Package and Auction Fee (where applicable) via the Pay Later option. This means the Marketing Package and Auction Fee (where applicable) will be payable on the date on which the earlier of the following events occur:

  • when the sale of your property completes; or
  • you choose to withdraw your advert or property from the market (in accordance with the services agreement); or
  • six (6) months elapses from the date you accept the Services Agreement.

In line with the terms of the Services Agreement, the Marketing Package is not refundable.

The $4,400 (incl GST) Success Fee ($6,600 incl GST in WA) is only paid at settlement of your Property.

What happens if I don’t sell my property?

Payment for the Marketing Package is required, regardless of whether or not the property sells. The Success Fee will not be payable if you don’t sell your property.

However, should you not receive an offer you’re happy with, we’ll sit down with you and discuss the feedback and offers received and make a recommendation regarding the marketing of your property going forward. You also have the option to go on a marketing break for as long as you wish. Should you wish to bring your property back onto the market, we are here to help. We may charge you fees to bring your property back onto the market in connection with new website listings or other costs that may arise.

How do I arrange an appraisal?

You can arrange an appraisal direct with one of our Local Property Experts within a few seconds, direct on our website. Simply clicking here and follow the onscreen instructions.

How do I register without booking an appraisal?

Registering with Purplebricks only take a few minutes. Click here to start the process. You will be asked to enter some basic information about yourself (including your title, name, address, e-mail address and contact numbers) and also if you are looking to sell or buy a property. You can then set-up a password and you are ready to go! Just to confirm there is no charge at all to register and we will never spam you.

What is an appraisal?

An appraisal is the professional opinion of the marketability and the likely sale price of your property – conducted by one of our Local Real Estate Agents. It is not a formal valuation, but an assessment based on the Local Real Estate Agent’s experience and recent market information. You can book a free appraisal here.

How do I arrange an appraisal?

You can arrange an appraisal directly with one of our Local Real Estate Agents using our website. Simply click here and follow the onscreen instructions. It should only take a moment.

‘My PurpleBricks’ – inspections, feedback and offers

What’s so great about the platform ‘My Purplebricks’?

Quite simply, My Purplebricks helps to ensure that you enjoy complete transparency of the process of selling your property. You’ll be able to see everything with the click of a button. You’ll know the moment an inspection is booked, feedback provided or requested, or an offer made. With offers, you can accept or reject them, or pass them on to us to deal with at no extra cost. While we’re happy to negotiate on behalf of our customers, and do so for the majority, some of our customers opt to negotiate directly or in partnership with their agent. In short, it allows you complete visibility and enables you to be involved as much, or as little as you wish.

Can I suggest/recommend an alternative date for an inspection that is marked as not available?

Yes. All you need to do is select an alternative date and time in the live diary and this will either be confirmed immediately as an instant booking, or be subject to approval by the other party.

Can I see all of my inspections, feedback and offers?

Yes, you’ll be able to see instantly as soon as an inspection is booked, feedback provided/requested or an offer made. We’ll automatically seek feedback from anyone who has inspected your property, and you’ll be able to look at it without it being moderated first. As regards to offers, you can either accept or reject them, or pass them to us to deal with at no extra cost (if you are the seller).

What's Included?

What is included in my Marketing Package?

Our Marketing Package includes open home and agreed private inspections, in your 45 day marketing campaign. It also includes professional photographs, online adverts and a For Sale board outside your home.

What about auctions?

Should you choose to take your property to auction, Purplebricks will organise this for you. We’ll take care of the auction details, arrange a licenced auctioneer and provide expert advice about the auction process. If you decide to sell by auction you’ll pay a low, fixed auction fee of $660 (incl GST). This is payable when you instruct us but can be deferred under the Pay Later option. If, following instruction, you decide to switch from private treaty to auction, you will need to pay the auction fee at the time you choose to change your method of sale.

What about open homes?

Your agent will handle your open home inspections on your behalf. It allows us to get a feel for the market and engage with all interested parties on your behalf. Unlike many of these other agents, there’s no extra charge for this – it’s all included in your Marketing Package during the 45 day marketing period. Following the 45 day marketing period, your Local Real Estate Agent will be available to conduct private inspections and, if reasonably necessary, additional open homes.

Do I need to do any of the work?

Not at all. While our platform My Purplebricks empowers you to be as involved as you want to be, you’re also free to leave it entirely to your Local Real Estate agent. Your Local Real Estate Agent will look after everything on the ground, and will be there to support you every step of the way. In addition, we have a team of experts at our HQ who are happy to take your call. That means we’re able to manage every aspect of your sale, from all the open homes to that tricky negotiation stage.

What is a Premiere advert on realestate.com.au?

Realestate.com.au has more property buyers than any other site in Australia and Premiere is the most effective property advert available on that website. Not only will your advert be larger, it will also top the relevant search results. It’s a great way of improving the visibility of your property and it is proven to attract more potential buyers. For example, properties with a Premiere advert receive 5.5 x more enquiries than a standard realestate.com.au advert (REA internal data November 2016).

If I get a premiere advert on realestate.com.au for 45 days, what happens afterwards?

If after 45 days your property has not had a successful offer, your Local Real Estate Agent will meet with you and discuss the marketing campaign to-date and the best options for the ongoing marketing and sale of your property. This may involve an extension of your premiere advertising listing on realestate.com.au and your advertising on other websites. You will need to pay extra for this but we have negotiated a heavily discounted rate for Purplebricks customers.

What is the cost for a board?

If you’re selling a property then our large, prominent Purplebricks For Sale board is included in the Marketing Package (including delivery and assembly). If the sign is damaged or stolen through no fault of yours, we may provide one additional signage board at no cost. For any further subsequent signage boards, there may be an additional cost.

Why is Conveyancing not included in the price?

We have not included conveyancing services within the fees because some people prefer using their own conveyancer.

Technical Questions

What computer do I need for My Purplebricks?

Your computer must have a 486/66-MHz processor or higher (Pentium processor recommended), 16Mb of RAM, a mouse and a modem or Internet connection. Your computer must also have one of the following operating system versions or above: Windows 98, 2000 with SP 2, NT 4.0 with SP 4 or XP for a PC, or Mac OS 8.1 for a Macintosh.

What browser do I need?

We support the following browsers:

For Microsoft Windows:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 and above.

In addition your browser must also:
